The New York Jets free safety Kerry Rhodes made his first statement Thursday since Jets head coach Rex Ryan hinted that he would like not to see Rhodes on the roster, but what the safety said just made people more confused with whether he will stay or leave.
"Rex Ryan is my guy. I like Rex a lot," Rhodes said. "We get along. We're great friends. He called me [yesterday] and reiterated again that they want me here. And to be honest, I really do want to be here." But he also said, "Sometimes circumstances happen. There's going to be a little talk between us in the next couple of weeks."
Although what Ryan said a few days ago seemed to suggest that it would be fine with him if Rhodes left the Jets, Rhode appeared to convince people that it was up to his own choice. Saying that he would like to continue wearing his No. 25 Jets jersey as Ryan and the team want, Rhodes, however, also said he is not going to promise that he will stay with the team. As confusing is the statement, I guess it is absolutely up to his choice to leave or not.

Jets coach Ryan said the team will not trade RB Jones
An internet report recently said that the New York Jets would trade running back Thomas Jones to an NFC West team because he sat out voluntary workouts. Jets coach Rex Ryan denied that speculation by saying that it’s "100 percent not true."
"Shoot, I'm not going to trade that," Ryan said of Jones. "You know what I'm all about, and this guy is huge in our plans. I'm not going to trade the running back who led the AFC in rushing (with 1,312 yards). I would for three first-round picks and something like that, maybe. We ain't dealing him. No way." Hope that during the season no fans would wear brett favre jersey to bring him bad memory.
Jones made his first Pro Bowl last season, but he skipped quite a few voluntary workouts during the offseason, and it was said that he was looking for a restructured contract. That may explain why some people guessed the team would trade him to another team.
