When the New Orleans Saints picked wide receiver Marques Colston as the 252nd pick of the seventh draft round in 2006, no one were having high expectation on the supplemental choice the Saints had been awarded for losing a relatively inconsequential player in free agency the previous season. There were hard times before Colston became a real star.
Colston was out of shape, exhibiting poor study habits and carried an utterly silent demeanor. He was taken as a bubble player and given the No. 12 Saints jersey and that number was typically reserved for quarterbacks. Saints receivers coach Curtis Johnson made it clear to Colston that he did not expect him to be there for long. And Colston’s performance in his first minicamp with the Saints was awful- he was so out of shape that it would take him five plays to get back to the line of scrimmage.
Feeling terrible coming out of the minicamp with a continuous lathering of criticism from Johnson lingering in mind, Colston spent two months whipping both his mind and body into shape. When he came back for training camp, he was totally different.
“About midway through training camp, you realized you had something in this guy,” Drew Brees said. “He started to play every receiver position. As guys got hurt, he was kind of the mainstay. He was Mr. Reliable. He was kind of the go-to guy.”
Colston continued to give off more lights and when his rookie season ended, he had had 70 catches, 1,038 yards and eight touchdowns, making the Saints completely forget the pain of losing Donte’ Stallworth, who was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles with his starting job being given to Colston during preseason. Thus the No. 12 wide receiver kept his starting job and gradually grew into the star player we are to see in this Sunday’s Super Bowl game.

Goodell will stick to the idea of having Pro Bowl before Super Bowl
It seems that the NFL commissioner Roger Goodell likes the idea of having Pro Bowl game before Super Bowl very much, as he has said that the Pro Bowl may stay before the Super Bowl game even after it moves back to Hawaii next year.
“We have the option when we go back to Hawaii, we can do it before or after (the Super Bowl),” Goodell said. “Here’s where I like it: I think you should stop or end your season when you reach the pinnacle. The pinnacle is the Super Bowl. I think it’s anticlimactic when you come back with the Pro Bowl the week after the Super Bowl.”
Those who want to see most shining star players play in Pro Bowl jerseys should understand that the game needs more attention so it does not want to stay behind the hottest game of a season- the Super Bowl. And Goodell thinks that moving it before the Super Bowl will keep people focusing on it before their passions for football leave after watching the Super Bowl. He admits that it is a drawback for players from the two Super Bowl team unable to play. Well, if the best players of the best teams are unavailable for the Pro Bowl, Goodell, could you please tell us why the hell the Pro Bowl still exists?

Will Steelers repeat their success in 2009?
As a six-time Super Bowl champion, they still have to improve if they want to repeat what happened in 2008.
The most difficult thing is that they have to get everything perfect to win in 2009. Steelers were dominant on defense last season, but other teams are all working hard to improve their defense this offseason. If the Steelers want to be dominant again, they have to work even harder than others. As to the offensive, it also needs improvement. The Steelers need to keep Ben Roethlisberger from being hit and sacked so often. Some players in texans jerseys may become better than him.
It is not easy to repeat the same path they took last year and win again. Keep improving is the very thing they need to do all the time.
