Kicker Nick Folk had to take off his Dallas Cowboys jersey to find a new job with another team after leading the NFL with 10 misses, going 18 of 28 and missing seven of his past 11. Soon after cutting him, the Cowboys signed a former Cowboys, Shaun Suisham to replace him.
Suisham previously kicked for Dallas in 2005 and 2006. He was released by the Washington Redskins on Dec. 8 after missing a key kick—the same problem that cost Folk his job Monday, when he clanged the right upright on an easy 24-yarder that would have put away Saturday night’s 24-17 victory against the unbeaten Saints and caused the Cowboys to have to make one more stand against one of the league’s best offenses.
The reason for Suisham being released is also related to the New Orleans Saints. Suisham was released by the Redskins in great part after he missed a short field goal against the Saints. Suisham played in three games for Cowboys in 2005 and was 3 of 4 on field goals before being released. Back with Dallas in 2006, he played in three games and was 1 for 2 before again being cut.

Cowboys LT Adams paid $50,000 for fifth infraction of the season
The Dallas Cowboys left tackle Flozell Adams had to pay $50, 000 for his fifth infraction of the season, the second unnecessary roughness to the New York Giants defensive end Justin Tuck, tripping him while playing against the Giants in Week 2 and shoving him again in last weekend’s 31-24 win over New York.
Adams already has been fined $25,000 for incidents in three other games this season, and he paid $12,500 for the roughness to Tuck in Week 2. And in a letter to Adams, NFL executive vice president of football operations Ray Anderson wrote: “Future infractions of the types you have committed may lead to increased disciplinary action up to and including suspension.” A lot have been guessing Adams could be forced to sit out a game recently.
Adams was docked $5,000 for an unnecessary roughness penalty in the opener at Tampa Bay and fined $7,500 by the NFL for kicking at Carolina defensive end Julius Peppers in Week 3. If he is to continue playing games, all players wearing other teams’ NFL jerseys should be careful enough to avoid touch with the repeat offender.

Cowboys RT Colombo’s broken leg needs surgery
The Dallas Cowboys lost Sunday’s game against the Green Bay Packers at 7-17, with starting right tackle Marc Colombo leaving in the second drive of the first quarter because of a broken left leg.
Colombo was injured when defensive tackle Johnny Jolly wearing Packers jersey rolled up on the back of his leg in an attempt to block running back Marion Barber. After being taken immediately for X-rays, he did not return to field and the team announced in the second quarter he had a broken left fibula. And head coach Wade Phillips said the player would need to have surgery on Monday.
“He’s not necessarily out for the season. That remains to be seen,” Phillips said.
So it is still hopefully that Colombo will still be able to start for the Cowboys for the rest of the season. Being picked by the Bears in 2002 in first round, Colombo has been a stalwart on the Cowboys’ offensive line and started every game since 2006. But it is doubtful whether he will keep the string as the surgery may hold him out for a few weeks.

Cowboys’ owner Jerry Jones is confident in winning Super Bowl
Days after the Dallas Cowboys lost the game against the New York Giants, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones voiced that the team has left the disappointment behind and he was confident that quarterback Tony Romo will have great days again after playing one the worst games.
Romo completed only 13 of 29 for 127 yards in the home opener held in the new billion-dollar Cowboys Stadium. Much worse than his performance in the season opener, in which he threw for a career-best 353 yards and no turnovers. However, Jones still feels confident in his team and believes that winning a Super Bowl is very likely to happen.
"I couldn't feel better about who I'm lining up with, Romo at quarterback. We're going to be good there and all right," Jones said. "If you're going to ask Tony, which we are, to make plays, then you will have interceptions. There's no doubt in my mind he will improve and his arrow is still going up in that improvement area."
The Cowboys are currently preparing for the game against the Carolina Panthers next Monday. They are definitely going to bounce back, I believe.

Former Cowboys LB Lockhart was arrested for mortgage fraud
On Thursday, former Dallas Cowboys linebacker Eugene Lockhart, along with Cowboys Mortgage owner Lendell Beacham were arrested, both facing one count of conspiracy to commit bank fraud and wire fraud and one count of wire fraud.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Lockhart and the others have made 54 fraudulent loan closings for single-family homes in the Dallas area that totaled about $20.5 million since February 2001. The federal indictment said that the defendants kept the surplus loan proceeds after they obtained loans to buy distressed or pre-forclosure properties and sold them at inflated prices.
Lockhart played for the Cowboys from 1984 through 1990 and for the New England Patriots in 1991-92, recording 16 career quarterback sacks and six interceptions, one of which was returned for a touchdown. In this fraud case, he was involved with several real estate businesses, including America’s Team Mortgage, America’s Team Realty, Cowboys Realty and KLT Properties, and was accused of collaborating with the eight others to devise the scheme and helping obtain inflated appraisals.

Cowboys receiver Williams sprained wrist and missed practice
As a player who was expected to be the team’s No. 1 receiver after Terrell Owens left the Dallas Cowboys, Roy Williams unfortunately sprained his left wrist during the team's Sunday morning practice.
Williams returned for the afternoon session, but the wrist was still so sore that the Cowboys had to send him for tests. X-rays were negative, so Williams would be day to day.
Williams was previouly playing for the Detroit Lions and signed by the Cowboys in mid-October with a $45 million, five-year contract. At that time, quarterback Tony Romo sustained a broken pinkie on his throwing hand and missed three games, and T.O. was still wearing dallas cowboys jerseys.
